The Effect
You present a padlock that can be attached to a personal object: a banknote, a ring, a prediction in a folded letter or even a borrowed watch. Then you show a group of keys (6 in total), where only one will open the lock.
The keys are mixed in a glass or in the hands of a spectator, who will verify for himself that only one of them opens correctly. One by one, the spectators select keys and try their luck without success, until only one remains... The one that the magician keeps or, if you prefer, you hand over to the owner of the secured object. Finally, that last key is tried and... bingo! The lock opens, closing the routine with a surprising denouement.
