Hat Tear - Witch

Want to turn a child's helper into a Witch or Warlock? Here's a routine with a torn and restored paper hat that works. Instead of a hat, this hat looks like a witches hat.

Ra El Mago and Julio Abreu (El Mago Charlie) have taken a classic routine and updated it for magicians and children's audiences. Watch the video to see how you can add a few details to create a routine that will last over 4 minutes, elicit lots of laughs, really surprise your audience and allow you to make a magical wizard hat shaped souvenir for a deserving child helper.

The routine is based on the classic hat tearing effect. You take two pieces of black and orange tissue paper, tear them into tiny pieces and crumple them into a small ball of paper. When you unfold the pieces, they are put back together and transformed into a paper hat in the shape of a witch's hat. When you give the hat to your volunteer, you'll create a keepsake that will last a long, long time.

In each packet, you will receive enough specially prepared tissue paper packets to perform the routine twelve times. Use the creators' routine in the video or make up your own.
